Alaska Troopers Aluminum Patrol Vessel Supports Fisheries Patrols

Coastwise Corporation completed the hull design and construction support for a high-speed aluminum patrol vessel. The P/V Churchill joined the Alaska State Troopers’ Division of Wildlife Services patrol vessel fleet. It is considered a medium class, general purpose patrol boat, designed to support trooper patrols of commercial and sport fisheries in the Prince William Sound region.

The Churchill is a 42-foot aluminum mono-hull uninspected vessel, however the hull structure was designed to meet ABS Guide for High-Speed Craft. The P/V Churchill is powered by three 300 horsepower outboard engines and reaches a cruise speed of 30 knots. The Churchill sleeps four and has a galley, head and shower for long distance voyages.

Bay Welding of Homer, Alaska constructed the P/V Churchill and designed the vessel’s mechanical and electrical systems. Coastwise Corporation was selected for this job based on our proven high-speed vessels operating in Alaska and our willingness to collaborate with small ship construction yards.
